1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Account information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
• Profile information: Age, gender, height, weight, fitness goals, and dietary preferences you enter during onboarding or in settings.
• Activity data: Meal entries (name, calories, macros, time), workout logs (description, duration, type), and daily progress records.
• AI conversations: Messages you send to and receive from the Coach Adapt AI coach.
• Health documents: Photos of lab results or health documents you upload for AI analysis.
• Profile photos: Images you choose to upload as your avatar.

We also collect certain information automatically:

• Usage data: Features used, screens visited, and interaction patterns within the app.
• Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version.
• HealthKit data (with your permission): Active energy burned, step count, heart rate, sleep data, and recent workout sessions from Apple Health.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Coach Adapt service.
• Personalize your AI coaching experience — including generating meal suggestions, macro targets, and workout recommendations tailored to your profile.
• Automatically adjust your daily calorie and macro targets based on your HealthKit activity data.
• Track your nutrition and fitness progress over time and surface trends in your dashboard.
• Generate weekly AI-written coach reports summarizing your performance.
• Send push notifications relevant to your goals. You can disable these in iOS Settings.
• Process subscription payments through Apple's App Store payment system.
• Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve the app — this data is anonymized and never linked to individual users.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase, a cloud database platform that uses industry-standard encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+). Profile photos are stored in Supabase Storage.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or destruction.

Your data is processed in the United States. By using Coach Adapt, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

4. AI Conversations

Your messages to the Coach Adapt AI are processed by Anthropic's Claude to generate personalized coaching responses. Messages include context about your nutrition goals, today's food and workout logs, and your profile — this context is sent with each message to enable accurate, personalized responses.

Anthropic does not use your conversation data to train its AI models. For more information, see Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

We recommend not sharing sensitive financial, legal, or medical information in chat. Coach Adapt AI provides general fitness and nutrition guidance and is not a substitute for professional medical advice.

Conversation history is stored in our database to provide continuity across sessions. You can request deletion of your chat history by contacting us at [email protected].

5. Health Data

Coach Adapt may request access to Apple HealthKit with your explicit permission. We access the following data types:

• Active energy burned (calories)
• Step count
• Heart rate
• Sleep analysis
• Workout sessions

HealthKit data is used solely to automatically adjust your daily calorie and macro targets, sync workout sessions to your log, and provide your AI coach with context about your physical activity.

HealthKit data is never shared with third parties and is never used for advertising. You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Coach Adapt.

Health documents (e.g., lab results) you upload are processed by Anthropic's Claude to extract nutrition-relevant findings. These documents are stored in your account and used only to inform your coaching experience.

6. Third-Party Services

Coach Adapt integrates with the following third-party services:

• Anthropic Claude AI — powers the AI coaching features. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase — database and authentication. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat — subscription management. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• Apple HealthKit — health and fitness data (with your permission).
• Apple App Store — all in-app purchases are processed by Apple.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers: With the third-party vendors listed above who assist us in operating the app, subject to confidentiality obligations.
• Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
• Business transfers: In connection with a merger or acquisition. We will notify you before your data is transferred.
• With your consent: For any other purpose with your explicit consent.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we delete all your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

• Account & profile data: Retained until account deletion.
• Meal & workout logs: Retained for the lifetime of your account.
• Chat history: Retained for conversation continuity. Can be deleted on request.
• Health documents: Retained until you delete them in-app or request account deletion.

9. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate data directly in the app or by contacting us.
• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data from within the app (Profile → Delete Account) or by emailing us.
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection: Object to certain processing of your data, such as direct marketing.

10. Children's Privacy

Coach Adapt is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately. Contact us at [email protected] if you believe this has occurred.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you via in-app notification or email for material changes. Your continued use of Coach Adapt after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
